Our client is a leading auction company, based in France known for fine art, antiques and antiquities. The company is well established and is one of the biggest auction platforms in Europe. They are now seeking a UK based sales representative to represent the company in securing business from auction houses in the UK.

About the role

The ideal candidate is a true sales-driven professional, bringing prior experience along with a dynamic, persuasive approach. They combine confidence and charisma with a strong results-oriented mindset, enabling them to close deals, cultivate lasting client relationships, and uncover new business opportunities. With a good knowledge of the art world and/or auctions, they are also enthusiastic about travel and active networking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively source, approach, and convert high-potential clients
  • Contact auction houses through various channels to arrange client appointments at their premises
  • Deliver high-impact sales presentations, live demos, and bespoke proposals
  • Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring high satisfaction and retention.
  • Keep your sales pipeline sharp and current by tracking leads, touchpoints, and deal progress.
  • Collaborate closely with the broader sales and marketing teams based in Paris
  • Actively contribute to marketing campaigns and networking events
  • Provide clear, data-driven forecasts to the VP of Sales, maintaining full visibility on sales performance and pipeline health.

About you

  • A results-driven mindset with the potential to consistently meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Native English mandatory; additional fluency in French is not essential.
  • Some sales experience, ideally in a B2B environment
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of industry dynamics and market trends.
  • Excellent negotiation and closing abilities, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency with CRM and sales tools
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the UK on a regular basis, and occasionally internationally
  • Comfortable working autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.

Requirements

  • Must understand how auctions work so will ideally have experience working in an auction house, or at a company that has provided services to auction houses
  • Must possess a valid UK driver’s license
  • Must be happy working fully autonomously and remotely, or at a shared office space

Our client is an independent fine art dealership primarily dealing in contemporary art. They have a permanent gallery outside London, and are opening a new space in Notting Hill, London, which will primarily function as a viewing room. Most pieces sell for between £1k-£25k. They are on the hunt for a Sales Associate (title negotiable) to manage this space, firstly alongside one of the co-owners and eventually independently. This role would suit someone who is independent and proactive, and interested in a long-term career within the gallery. Candidates with existing clients are especially of interest. The role can be worked part time or full time but, either way, the candidate will ideally work some Saturdays – at least initially - with the addition of art fairs in the UK and abroad.
