About the Role
Our client is a collectible design gallery and an award-winning multidisciplinary architecture and design firm with offices in Italy, London, and the US. The practice was founded on the principles of elegance and timeless sophistication, and our client specialises in creating collectible designs that are recognized worldwide for their excellence and ability to transform the ordinary into something extraordinary. The galleries are an extension of this practice and successful candidates will mirror the gallery’s professionalism.
About the role:
To maximise all sales opportunities whilst maintaining company standards in all areas. To create strong client relationships and brand loyalty by ensuring excellent client service, product knowledge and care, personal presentation and teamwork at all times.
Responsibilities
Selling
- Acquire and apply high standards of product knowledge and selling skills to maximize all sales opportunities
- Create an exclusive experience for all clients by asking relevant questions to correctly establish needs and preferences
- Offer clients relevant advice regarding current collections, care etc., as well as guiding and assisting the client in making their decision as appropriate
- Ensure that all purchases are processed and completed correctly (send offer, invoice, PO to production and monitor any post-sales issues)
- Answer to Enquiries (Website and Instagram accounts)
- Maintain an awareness of Company, gallery and personal sales targets and performance, working towards all commercial objectives and goals set
Gallery Operations
- Timely and accurate completion of any necessary administration (daily report, sales ledger, potential sales and production follow up) adhering to set procedures and policies as appropriate
- Assist with regular stock level checks and tidying organisation
- Assist with the preparation as well as attending regular events including special events, promotions, stock taking etc.
- Adhere to relevant Health & Safety as well as Security procedures and guidelines at all times
Merchandising / Product
- Establish and maintain sufficient knowledge of current merchandising guidelines as well as the ability to maintain set standards at all times
- Maintain relevant displays and ensure replacement of sold products
- Ensure all goods are perfectly cleaned, handled and stored with due care
- Check the quality of products at the reception
- Ensure for each product : creation in the catalogues, creation of tear sheet and all price lists update
Personal Presentation / Image
- Arrive in good time each day, ready to commence work when your shift is due to start
- Adhere at all times to dress code, grooming and conduct guidelines as specified within the company Behavioral Policy
- Ensure that the gallery, including stock areas, is kept clean and tidy at all times and that products are always immaculate and replaced neatly and promptly
Customer Experience / Customer Relationship
- Establish and maintain strong client relationships by promptly greeting and welcoming clients as well as offering refreshments where appropriate and by always escorting clients to the door and thanking them for their visit
- Respond promptly and appropriately to all queries, including telephone queries, and ensure clients are always kept informed as appropriate
- Chase clients and potential projects in a timeline manner
- Ensure clients are introduced to the client database and maintain the system by regularly updating and accurately inputting client details
- Creation of mailing lists
- Offer relevant after sales care, including the appropriate information regarding events, new collections etc.
Team Spirit
- Communicate and liaise appropriately and effectively with colleagues and management within own and other galleries, as well as with AS Head Office and Production as required
- Work effectively and efficiently within the team, sharing ideas and contributing to a positive morale as well as ensuring good time management and sufficient Gallery cover at all times
- Apply a helpful and courteous manner towards all colleagues, remaining reliable, supportive and flexible as the business demands
- Ensure absolute confidentiality of the Company’s commercial activities and internal affairs at all times
Training / Personal Development
- Successfully participate in and complete any training provided, acquiring and applying high standards of selling skills and product knowledge
- Actively and positively participate in any meetings arranged
Although comprehensive the job description is not exhaustive, and additional duties may be added according to the needs of the business and as requested by the Gallery Director.
About you
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing all client relationships in Europe as well as for expansion into Middle East and Asia.
- Mid-level experience
- Ideally a strong background in high-end / collectible design
- Ideally have B2B connections within the interior design and architecture sectors
- Ideally have experience with high-value boutique collections (e.g. objects, sofas, desks, cabinets)
- Confidence and prior experience with art and design fairs preferred
- Typical price range: £30,000 – £300,000
- Highly presentable, with exceptional attention to detail
Languages: Arabic highly desirable Russian language or strong ties to the Russian community considered a plus
Start Date: ASAP
Compensation: Base salary: £35,000 – £40,000 (average £38,000) + Commission structure based on turnover
Commission applies after £1.5M in sales
Sales target: £3M
Sales above £3.5M are paid as a bonus
