About the Role
Our client, a leading international art gallery that specialises in modern and contemporary art, is looking for several experienced Operations Professionals to join their Gallery and Warehouse teams in a managerial capacity.
There are three positions available: 1) Warehouse Operative, based in their logistics center in North West London, 2) Operations Manager – Post Sale Department, based in the central London Gallery, 3) Senior Operations Manager, based in the central London Gallery and reporting directly to the COO.
About the Roles
Supporting the Operations Department, contributing to the departmental strategy by striving to achieve operational objectives and personal goals.
Warehouse Operative
- Handling, moving, packing and unpacking all artwork and installations carefully and with due consideration
- Packing and unpacking artwork for onward shipping, including crates
- Stock management
- Administration of artwork using our database (training provided)
- Logging and reporting any damaged pieces whether damaged in the gallery or before arrival
- Assisting with any other warehouse duties as required
- It may be necessary to work after hours, on occasion.
Gallery Operations (Responsibilities may include but are not limited to)
- Managing Exhibition take downs and re-hangs, via efficient and thorough planning of resources
- Ensuring effective and timely execution of stock transfers
- Arranging, checking and approving stock framing
- Arranging and overseeing stock photography
- Preparing works for external appointments
- Managing daily gallery display changes
- Practical management of entire team of technicians, their tools, equipment and vehicles
- Ensuring all artwork movement is correctly logged
- Updating all necessary front-end staff as to progress on projects, amending and progressing projects as needed
- Total stock management on a day to day basis
- Managing and planning best course of delivery/installation of artworks to clients worldwide
- Quality checking sold artworks prior to delivery to clients
- Arranging, checking and approving any and all restoration and repairs with approved suppliers
- Arranging, checking and approving all associated framing, plinths, lighting and other items for client projects as needed
- Arranging and following up pre-delivery logistics for installation (site visits etc)
- Planning best course of delivery from start to finish
- Executing and ensuring all delivery objectives are met, whether in the UK or overseas, working closely with in-house shipping team wherever necessary
- Tracking all products/issues, ensuring correct route is followed and mitigating any delivery issues
- Ensuring all associated delivery paperwork is correct
- Updating all necessary front-end staff as to progress on projects, amending and progressing projects as needed

- Relevant experience in a similar role from either an art or luxury goods background
Experience in a similar role, in either art or luxury goods Good written and spoken English is also essential Basic IT skills with MS Office. Training of internal systems will be provided Candidates must be qualified to work within the UK A Driving license is beneficial but not essential Knowledge of, and qualifications in, using forklift trucks, WAV machines is beneficial but not essential
Salary: DOE
