About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly experienced Architect Project Manager/Associate to join their studio in Berlin. Our client’s work encompasses architecture, scenography, virtual environments and entertainment. The studio has developed large-scale projects, installations and exhibition architecture.

Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years’ professional experience and will report directly to and work closely with the Management Team.

About the role

The Architect Project Manager/Associate is a senior, management-focused position working with the Principal Architect of the company and will be responsible for auditing design deliverables and project developments, safeguarding planning and quality-control protocols, and holding distributed accountability for project delivery across the studio’s portfolio. Candidates should demonstrate a strong track record in project management, team leadership, project planning, business development, and client communication, combined with the technical architectural background necessary to step into design tasks when required.

Candidates should be able to guide and mentor architects and designers across concurrent projects, coordinate with clients, consultants, and collaborators. They should be able to represent the company at client meetings and site visits. Participation in management meetings and firm-wide decision-making is not a fixed part of the position, however the PM/Associate may be invited to contribute on specific measures.

Responsibilities

  • Audit design deliverables and project developments across the studio, ensuring quality, consistency, and adherence to studio protocols and standards.
  • Establish, maintain, and enforce planning, documentation, and quality-control protocols across projects.
  • Hold distributed accountability for project delivery alongside the Principal Architect, acting as a second point of oversight to safeguard timelines, deliverables and design integrity.
  • Lead project planning across concurrent projects, setting milestones, resourcing, and schedules
  • Manage, mentor, and guide architects and designers, prociding structured oversight and fostering accountability within the team.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, and external stakeholders, maintaining clear communication and strong professional relationships
  • Support business development activities, contributing to proposals, pitches, and client presentations
  • Step into design and technical tasks when required, providing architectural expertise and hands-on support to project teams.
  • Represent the company at client meetings, and site visits, including travel within Europe and internationally.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in architecture
  • 10+ years of professional experience, with significant experience in project leadership, team management, and quality control
  • Proven track record of managing and delivering complex projects on time, within budget, and to high design and technical standards
  • Solid technical architectural background, with the ability to step into design tasks when necessary
  • Demonstrable experience establishing and enforcing project protocols, planning systems, and quality-control processes
  • Strong team leadership, mentoring and communication skills
  • Experience in business development and client-facing roles
  • High proficiency in Rhino, AutoCAD, 3D rendering software (V-Ray or similar), and Adobe Creative Suite programs, in particular InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Proficiency in project management and planning software
  • Willingness and availability to travel
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • European Citizen, or with a valid working visa for the EU

Salary: Around EUR 50k DOE
