About the Role
Our client is seeking a Registrar to join their team within a busy artist’s studio in central London. The role would suit a candidate with previous experience working in a logistics role within a shippers, gallery or studio environment.
About the Role:
- Leading on all matters in connection with the shipping of artworks including post sale shipments, coordinating framing and restoration of artworks
- Obtaining shipping and packing estimates on behalf of clients
- Maintaining the database with all shipping and installation information
- Filing customs documentation and proof of import / export
- Maintaining the TA/ IPR account documentation and monitoring works entering/releasing from Bonded storage
- Liaising with studio installation teams for post‐sale installations
- Working with third parties including gallery registrars on consigned inventory
- Assisting with Insurance of Inventory including arranging cover for artworks, providing insurance values to team, preparation of insurance values for exhibitions and loans, inputting insurance values when works are completed
- Assisting with the annual stocktake
Required Skills and Experience:
- Solid experience and excellent manner in managing client relationships
- An excellent attention to detail and be familiar with checking condition reports, installation guides, fabrication details, framing and display information
- Knowledge of shipping export/import paperwork including documentation required for TA and Bond
- Strong administration skills and have worked in roles that provide information to users on a timely and efficient basis
- Very good basic numeracy skills and have had exposure to costing and pricing
- Experience working with and organising DHL/FedEx shipments
This role will be fully based onsite in London, the working hours are Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
