About the Role

Our client is a contemporary international art gallery that has recently opened its Thailand space, alongside established locations in the US. They are seeking a commercially driven Gallery Manager/Sales Director to lead sales, develop client relationships, and help grow the gallery's presence across Thailand and the wider Asian market.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone experienced in high-end sales or an ambitious art world Sales Associate/Associate Director looking to step into a leadership role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day front-of-house presence and deliver an exceptional client experience.
  • Drive sales across primary works, secondary market, advisory, and existing inventory.
  • Build and manage relationships with collectors, advisors, institutions, and corporate clients.
  • Develop new business opportunities and expand the gallery's collector network across Asia.
  • Represent the gallery at exhibitions, events, and client meetings.
  • Work closely with the CEO on commercial strategy and gallery growth.

The gallery has some operational support in place, but the Sales Director will need to coordinate and oversee shipping, art handling, and other gallery duties. However, the majority of work time will be focused on sales and client development.

Candidate Profile

  • Candidates must have Thai citizenship.
  • Experience working within the contemporary art world is highly preferred.
  • Gallery and/or art fair experience is helpful.
  • Proven track record in high end sales and client relationship management.
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive, and commercially minded.
  • Strong understanding of the Asian art market and an existing regional network would be highly advantageous.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working independently in a growing business.

Languages

Fluent English is essential. Additional Asian languages are a plus.

Salary & Benefits

Competitive base salary (DOE). Commission on select secondary market, advisory, inventory sales

Location: Thailand

Working Hours: Tuesday - Saturday, approximately 10:00am-6:00pm
