About the Role

Our client is a dynamic, inclusive arts space with artist studios based in Packham. They are a young arts organisation at a truly pivotal stage of their development. Now in their fourth year, they are looking for a creative, driven individual who can realise the potential of their assets and make a transformational difference to the company’s growth, long-term future and financial sustainability.

This role is a newly created position intended for an energetic, highly motivated self-starter. Reporting directly to the Founders and the Artistic Director, the successful candidate will take ownership of a diverse portfolio encompassing venue hire, individual giving, corporate sponsorship, and entrepreneurial commercial activities. This is a rare and rewarding opportunity for someone with a demonstrable track record of generating income in a cultural setting, who is excited to contribute to a more equitable cultural future.

Responsibilities:

Corporate Sponsorship and Commercial Activity

  • Pitch Sponsorship Decks to external businesses, brands, and organisations, ensuring approaches align with company values.
  • Identify and secure corporate sponsorship to support the company’s core operations and artistic programmes.
  • Research and lead on other forms of support-in-kind eg. product / hospitality / drinks sponsorships etc.
  • Create and manage new commercial avenues that can support income generation such as an online shop, hospitality leasing etc.

Venue Hire

  • Implement and deliver a venue hire strategy for the project space, actively selling the venue to aligned organisations for commercial and private hires, filming, photography, and brand activations.
  • Manage the full end-to-end venue hire pipeline, converting initial enquiries into contracted business, hosting site visits, managing operational logistics, and overseeing event delivery.
  • Collaborate across the team including the Programme Facilitator and Front of House to ensure hire logistics, equipment, staffing, and catering run smoothly and safely.
  • Work with the Marketing and Communications Manager to create sales collateral, maintain up-to-date venue hire listings, and maximise digital platforms to attract target corporate, agency, and creative clients.

Supporters and Patrons

  • Manage and develop the Supporters and Patrons schemes, building a regular giving portfolio from the ground up.
  • Identify, research, solicit and recruit new donors and supporters for core operations and programme activity.
  • Provide excellent stewardship and maintain a healthy pipeline of donors, managing regular contact, one-to-one engagement, and benefits fulfilment to ensure long-term retention.
  • Work with the Artistic Director to plan, deliver, and host an engaging programme of special events, openings, and cultivation dinners for current and prospective supporters.

Financial Management

  • Manage all finances using Xero Accounting Software, liaising with accountants. Making all payments, ensuring invoices are issued and paid promptly, payments are monitored and reconciled.
  • Manage financial tracking, categorising all payments for budgeting and monitoring purposes.
  • Manage executive budgets, producing forecasts, tracking cash flow, and ensuring strict financial control.
  • Support Founders and accountants with companies house filing.
  • Provide clear, quarterly reports on commercial and fundraising activities, tracking KPIs and updates for the Founders and Board.
  • Maintain compliance with data protection (GDPR), Health & Safety regulations, and fundraising legislation.

General

  • Develop and execute a robust, Income Generation Strategy to drive growth year-on-year, delivering on philanthropic and commercial targets set.
  • Represent the company externally at key public and private events, networking with patrons, collectors, potential sponsors, and partner institutions to build mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Work with the Artistic Director to proactively identify and apply to funds and trust opportunities, as well as supporting art sales and creative partnership initiatives.

Person Specification:

  • Proven track record in income generation, fundraising, or sales within a cultural/charitable venue or creative arts organisation.
  • Demonstrable experience in driving B2B and B2C relationships, with success in securing corporate sponsorships or individual donations.
  • Experience managing commercial venue hires, including client cultivation, contract negotiation, and event operational oversight.
  • Experience in finance and budget management alongside setting/achieving ambitious income targets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written), with the ability to present high-quality proposals and speak passionately about the company’s mission to stakeholders.
  • Strong project management and administration skills, with a proven ability to multi-task, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective negotiating skills, with a high level of tact and diplomacy required to navigate relationships with donors and external partners.
  • Confident knowledge of Google Workspace is a must. Experience with design software and accounting software (e.g., Adobe/Xero) is highly desirable.
  • A strong network of contacts and past partnerships, within the arts or impact investment industries.
  • An outgoing, social, and proactive personality who genuinely enjoys engaging with a wide range of people and building communities.
  • An energetic, highly motivated team player with a "can-do" attitude, comfortable working independently and building new systems, driving decision-making in their areas of responsibility.
  • An informed interest in and appreciation of contemporary arts and the company’s renegade driven mission.
  • Knowledge of charity regulations and GDPR compliance.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work outside normal office hours for evening openings, networking events, and patron dinners (Time Off In Lieu provided).

Salary: £38,000 p/a. (flexible and pro rata for part time)

Work set up: 3 Days a week

Working hours are 10am - 6pm. This role may require evening and weekend work to align with events, TOIL is given.

Ideally able to work Wednesdays, otherwise days are flexible. Will be part time for atleast a year and could then go full time if enough income is being generated, initially a 6 month contract with the potential to extend. Hybrid.
